
Gary Sanson, 67, of Cross Lanes
departed this life Monday, June 9, 2008,with his wife, Helen, by his side.
He is also survived by his
daughter, Sherrie Cottrell, her husband, Nick, and two grandsons,
Jude and Jonah, who were the joy of his life, all of Parkersburg;
brother, James R. Coe Sanson of Columbus, Ohio; and a
host of friends and neighbors who will miss his wit and his
willingness to help those in need.
Gary was a U.S. Army veteran. He
considered Kanawha Valley Motorsports' racers his extended family and
enjoyed each year of racing his truck with the motto Growing
old is mandatory but Growing up is optional and ending up the
year by attending the bracket racing finals with friends.
A memorial service to honor Gary
at Kanawha Valley Motorsports Dragway Park on Route 35, Southside,
will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 5.
In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests that donations be made to the bracket finals fund at Kanawha
Valley Motorsports Dragway Park on July 5 in his honor, where his
legacy will continue.
